Light rig that follows characters?

Hello,

I'm curious how to link a light to follow a character's movement. I understand how to use light linking to make a light illuminate just the character, but I don't know how to make the light follow the animation. Do you have a tutorial for this?

Thanks!

hi sachalek,

In your node list, you can move your light in the bone that your light have to follow, like a parent-child constraint

Hi,  I have some trouble with that ; I move the light in the bone as you said, and it didn't work, I tried different things like add a euler, move the abc out of the node, but nothing worked, any idea why ?

Hi Niff ! You can try linking the Light to an animated object, like a locator, controller from the rig (or anything with transforms moving), if you link it to a deformed mesh, it's the points that are moving, and not the transform node, so your light won't follow ! smile
