Re: Beta v0.12

Hi all!

This is a fat release note smile And it doesn't even contain the whole release note up to 0.12.8!
Needless to say there are lot more coming:
- rework of the layer system (several output nodes, very useful to simply split your render into foreground, background, ...)
- more improvements in the raytracer
- revamped icons

Stay tuned!

I'm dowlonad it now !

Any news on the hair duplicator ?

I'm starting a very realiste female for my current job and after I would like to make a good picture with hairs.
Fur work's fine for the face and eyebrown, but I would like to use shave for the hairs.

Yes

It's an awesome release, with a lot of very cool feature, like the node aov, the render view like a viewer (expose the A in texture), ptc viewer for debug, layer more efficient etc....

Little bug in the viewport

Without AA, I have that during some seconds, with AA, no problem.

Re: Beta v0.12

Hi Pitiwazou!

Ha, nice question smile
It requires a nice answer, huhu wink

In my opinion, Guerilla is not far from being a fully functional commercial version. There are still some things that need to be addressed (for instance, a raytracer able to render the same images as the Reyes engine), a few features we are still working on which we'll talk about later, a better library (mainly coherent materials, more newbies friendly), polishing -- that is nicer ui and getting rid of these little annoyance here and there, and of course documentation, loads of it smile

Obviously, even though we're closer than ever to the version 1.0 we have in mind, it doesn't mean the development is over. We still have loads of things in mind for the future smile Actually, 1.0 would be a big milestone for us, but quite just the beginning smile

And you (all), what's you opinion about Guerilla?

BTW, thanks all for the support!

Re: Beta v0.12

Hi Ben,

My opinion is that Guerilla is already fully functional, incredible and going in the right way.
The Guerilla team did an incredible work on it.
By the way, i can t wait for the fully workable raytracer hider.

It would be good to have:
-CoShader
-Possibilities to create in the property box some custom controls(SDK)
-To try to keep up to date the SDK Documentation , i know that s painfull.
-PSD output format that understand AOVs as photoshop layer , a little bit like EXR channel (to help the matte-painting process)

Cheers to the whole team,
Keep the good work Cyril Ben and Guillaume.

Re: Beta v0.12

He he, very good the 0.12 !!

De bonnes choses, aov's à la volé, des frames très pratiques et etc !
J4ai juste l'impression qu'on ne peut plus faire tout ce qu'on eut pendant un rendu et le viewport qui déconne si l'aa est à 0.

Re: Beta v0.12

Hi Pitiwazou!

What do you mean you can't do what you want when it's rendering? Is Guerilla stuck somewhere?

For the viewport issue, I'll have a look, but it seems to work properly on my system. I'll try a Windows desktop to find out what is happening. It looks like objects are flipped inside out, right?

Re: Beta v0.12

It's like my picture > http://uppix.3dvf.com/images/guerillabu.jpg and after few seconds, the viewport is correct.
I don't know if I'm the only one with this bug.

This morning, during my test, when I started a render the soft was not as usual, ça ramait.
It's a beta, so it's maybe normal.

I'm currently working on a good picture, so I will take you all my feedback wink

Re: Beta v0.12

It will be possible to add a menu like maya ?

http://uppix.3dvf.com/images/menumaya.jpg

Re: Beta v0.12

Pitiwazou : about futur release of Guerilla :

We are focusing right now on two major features :

- An interactive re-renderer : you render once, then you re-render at the speed of light when you tweek the lighting or the shaders parameters. You can change the material/light linking, change the shading network, move the lights and modify the AOVs.

- A complete raytracer, with motion blur, AOVs, volumetrics and a better support for micropolygon raytracing. Guerilla is becoming a true hybrid renderer, you can choose Reyes or Unbiased raytracing regarding your project. In Reyes mode, all the raytrace features are available for secondary rays of course.
