LEM - Planet 51

Hello !

I'm currently working on a render of a character from my friend, shogunato.
It's juste the biginning, and I hope the final will be mutch better !

I would like to add GI but, I don't know the best and simple way to do that.
Matic create a tutorial on that, but like Gam said, it's not the good way, because the shadows are not really great.
Maybe with some tweak !
I'll test that !

The best way is to use raytrace, use pointbased shit only when you don t have any other choice , same for the shadows.
Just avoid to tag the subdiv/displace parameter.

I agree with Pixo, the best way is the raytrace.
After a discussion with him, the conclusion is the point based works pretty well on organic surface, but with hard surface, it's a pain in the a** smile

Re: LEM - Planet 51

So for your answer about GI you should use the same, you have many way to optimise it,but for a simple scene like that I wouldn t do any optimisation especially for a still frame!
Cheers!

@Gam
Pointbased is really good when you don t have any other choice.
The common example is to simulate tones of lights in a scene like a city.
Pointbased is harder and longer  to setup on simple scene, and not especially faster .
So for this kind of scene obviously full raytrace.
