Challenger 2006

Hi everyone,

Here is my challenger render on Guerilla. I'm actually a student at Isart Digital(Paris) and I would like some tricks to get a better result.

Re: Challenger 2006

hi, good start man!

Some things to improve (i thinnk) :

The fake night effect look way too fake ; might be better to start from a night hdri.
Shadows does not match car // hdri
Exposure looks unrealistic
Car lenses need lot more modelling details to make the chrome reflection realistic.
The carpaint reflection is too blury, and the fresnel blend is a bit strong

In terms of posing, wheels looks too straight, you may add some torq to Rear, and small amount of inclaisaison to front wheels

Good luck for your project.

Hi ! Welcome man great model !

In my opinion, your render lakes of lights, cars rendered at night are lit by the city lights, and they must shine smile This dark place is probably not a good place to take a photo of your road monster.

As Paul said, the car paint coating (spec2) should be sharp, it's like a layer of glass. You can use a rough material (spec1) underneath.

The binding between the windshield and the car looks a bit CG to me.

Keep up the good work !

Cyril

Re: Challenger 2006

Hi Hulud,

Thanks for you opinion.
The problem between my windshield and the car is because I forgot to shade my interior... This is my joint which can help for it.

I'm going to fix it right now.

Re: Challenger 2006

Also, you could give a try to an IES profile (or a gobo texture for the spots, which is faster to render) to add details to your front spot lights.

This is actually an IES light. The real problem for my integration is from the bakcplate which wasn't by day. I want to change it because it's gonna be easier if it was really taken by night.

For my class, I needed to use this backplate so I try tu put it by night but this is really difficult.
I think that the next render will be with a different HDR and backplate for a better result.

Re: Challenger 2006

Here is (in my opinion) a better render. I cjange tthe balcplate and the HDR. For now threre is no comp and it seems already a better result.

Re: Challenger 2006

Here is a little update:

I just add some volumereyes in Nuke

http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2014/52/1419325998-render-comp.jpg

Thanks for your help, I correct for this one the fresnel, the spec 2 is less blury.
The lack of lights is now gone with this new backplate and we can see more precisely a connection between my windshield and the car.

And for you Hulud, I put this monster on the road !

What do think about this one ?
