Talking Robot

Hi everyone ..

So here's my next Project i wish to render in Guerilla ..
I'm only at the beginning of the shading / lighting process and Modeling/ Rigging is still evolving ..
So, here's the kind of thing i'd like to have (with a better rusted metal shader and mat)

I'm still non-professional in shading/lighting/rendering and i think it's gonna be hard for me to achieve this "tears inside" project..

I will post steps as it's growing, but i think i will post questions more than images ^^

Hi,

Here's step two (in fact step 25 )..

Tweaking all the Mats under a simple Light for now and trying to get out of this plastic result without success :( ..
Each piece use a "Matte" with simple bump /specu ~ cookTorrance added but i didnt find the magic mix for now ..

First I love the model and the posing smile

Have you try the anisotropic BRDF (ward) ? It should give you a good result on the metal part. There is a little tweek to use it right now (you have to switch on the Enable tangent flag on the geometry).

The shadow glitches come from different version of Guerilla installed on the farm sad ..now it's fixed
==> Hum...in fact it's seem to be the raytraced shadow

Don't forget to turn off the switch "clamp before filtering" in the layer options. It should be off by default anyway.. This will allow the highlights to 'burn' in the depth of field.

The colors were not so bad smile By the way, what about putting your little guy in a bright environment ?

Hi guys

It's been a while now since my last post about this project but it still exist ..
It was hard to find time to work on and i do admit that i had to do a 180 turn concerning shading ..
I'm still and will not be a good shader creator, and at the end, Guerilla is not as much as i whished on the "devant de la scene" for this one.

Everything is still w.i.p and i have to find time to make some tweaks : inside mouth for example and some animation cleaning.
At the end the project is not exactly what i had in mind but do i had something , i don't know ^^ . 1 person is definitly not enough to take care of evrything on a project like that .

It was by the way a very interesting and exciting experience for me .

@Pixo : I will ask for some help yes wink , i made a crappy script to reassign and reconect all materials between 2 identical scenes with different animation but it work half of the time, i'm much a python script guy and there are some part of lua integration in Guerilla that i still don't understand so i will smile
