Fur problem

Hi everyone, I'm having a disturbing problem.

In fact, the same as this guy => http://www.guerillarender.com/forum/vie … php?id=676

The map that I use to tweak the density and the lenght parameters have no effects on the fur procedural node, it's make whatever it wants.
But the thing is, the solution he has been told is what I do from the beginning : using a material override to tweak those parameters.

And the more and more I try to make the map work (going to disabled to bake to read hoping it'll update the fur, putting all the differents map I can), the worst it get : now, when I put read on for my fur, it just disapears. And as I have an animation for my character that have the fur, I don't know how i'm going to do to render this shot.

Thank you for reading,

Nabu

Re: Fur problem

Hi Nabu,

A common mistake is to put the overrides on the Fur procedural. Those material override must be put on the scalp object (your model). Can you confirm that is what you do ?

Once your fine with a static fur, Turn the Implantation mode in Bake, render once, turn it to Read and you should be fine for your animation.

Best,

Re: Fur problem

Thank you for your response hulud, but it wasn't that, I put the overridematerial properly.

My teacher (Philippe Llerena) helped me solve my problem : instead of using the edit button to set the scalp on the mesh, i was using set to plug the fur like that :

And apparently it was the set that causes all the troubles, juste by removing them and using the "edit" button, it solved all my problems as I already differencied the link button in the parameters that I overidded (by example, as both of my fur's density are overidded, the first one have been renamed density_01 and the other density_02 to avoid all confusions)
And now it's look like that :

And now it works perfectly. I was just doing things the hard way.
