It's very nice. Great job as usual Quentin. Can you give us some render times ?

Very good indeed !

Can you explain a little your shader ?
You use your technique with fake SSS or other ?

Re: New skin render on new free 3D scan

thanks for yours comments smile

pitiwazou my shader is really pretty simple...

one sss with a low scale (like 0.06 i think) a lambert for a more solid aspect and basic stuff like we all do smile

cyril i dont look the render time but it's around 6/8 minutes + 1 minutes for the sss something like that but i have a strong parametre (u know me :p) so maybe for an equal results we can have a 3 minutes render smile (shading rate very low .1 and 16 samples for the AA)

regards.

The last versions are much better, well done wink

J'ai parl avec pixo du SSS de base dans guerilla, celui avec les 3 couches, il m'a dit qu'il tait trs bien et qu'ul fallait juste tweaker les couleurs et la puissance du SSS.
Tu l'as test ?

Je le testerai sur mon dernier perso.

You mean 16x16=256 AA samples, hum ?

Re: New skin render on new free 3D scan

cyril i mean : sampling weight :16 sampling height : 16 smile

Re: New skin render on new free 3D scan

The Guerilla skin shader does:

- multiply the luma of the diffuse texture by blood and dermis color, multiply these by some lambert+ambient, and pass into 2 sss with different scales
- the upper dermis color is deduced from the diffuse texture, blood and dermis colors (upper = texture - blood - dermis)
- all layers are finally added (with some factor for blood, bloodiness)
- and eventually 3 cook torrance specs (oiliness, regular specular and limited backscatter) with specular texture

All of this is not so so physically accurate, but it gives a good start for those who'd like to go deeper
Pixo had some crazy stuff for his skin shader, but I have to admit I couldn't understand a damn thing smile

Hmmm something that's worth telling also... Maybe Quentin checked this. By default, Guerilla will clamp the rendered samples to 1 before filtering. This protects the antialiasing from very high light intensity, but unfortunately this decreases dramatically the depth of field shiny effect...
The default behaviour of the pre filter clamp will be changed so it doesn't affect the dof anymore...
So make sure that the Layer's Pixel Filter / Clamp Before Filter is not checked!

Cheers
