SkyLightΒΆ

The SkyLight is a physical clear sky model. Its a light rig composed of a directional light and an environment light. The lights intensity and color depends on the sun elevation and the atmosphere turbidity.

The SkyLight has some dynamic attributes to control the rig.

Orient the SkyLight

Change the sun elevation
  1. Select the SkyLight group.
  2. Use the SkyLight > Elevation attribute.
Rotate the sun
  1. Select the SkyLight group.
  2. Rotate it around the Y axis.

The SkyLight attributes

Albedo

This is the earth average albedo.

The SkyLight > Albedo set to 0.1, 0.7 and 0.9

Elevation

The sun elevation in degrees.

The SkyLight > Elevation set to 8, 30 and 70

Intensity

The global light rig intensity.

The SkyLight > Intensity set to 0.25, 0.5 and 1.0

SkyExponent

The sky exponent to control the sky alone.

The SkyLight > SkyExponent set to -1.0, 0.0 and 1.0

SunExponent

The sun exponent to control the sun alone.

The SkyLight > SunExponent set to -1.0, 0.0 and 1.0

SunRadius

The sun radius in degrees.

Our sun has an apparent angle between 0.5 and 1, depending on its elevation.

The SkyLight > Radius set to 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0

Turbidity

The turbidity controls the amount of particles in the air. A low turbidity value means a pure air and a clear blue sky. A high value means an air loaded with particles, making the sky brown.

The SkyLight > Turbidity set to 3, 5 and 10

The User Guide/Lighting/Environment lights section.
